Reapplying Life Discount

If you have a household that has auto and home and life discounts and then the auto and home cancel out and are subsequently reinstated, the life discount falls off.  You, as the agent, must call service center to have life discount reapplied.

The upgrade sheet for clients to better discounts, such as up discount, needs to be done each month.

·         Go to managing tab

·         Move the e-cms spot and move tab down to where you see agent on line reports

·         Go to the apps 49 and apps 50 midcentury rewrite the updates

This is updated each month

When you order any mvrs and credit reports from farmers be sure to write the down the date so when you write the business you can fill in the spot on the screen to get your money credit back.

Next Gen

We have had several claims already on the Next Gen policy that involved a water mainline break where the break was outside the home. The water then went into the home causing damage.

Under the Next Gen policy this loss is excluded if the insured does not have the J6263 Sewer and Drain Water Damage Coverage Endorsement. This was covered in our other policy's without an endorsement.

Here is the policy language from the Next Gen that excludes coverage (make special note of 4, ii, a.)

SECTION I – EXTENSIONS OF COVERAGE

1.       Limited water coverage.

a.       We provide limited coverage for direct physical loss or damage to covered property from direct contact with water, but only if the water results from:

(4)  a sudden and accidental discharge, eruption, overflow or release of water, other than a water - reverse flow:

i.    from within any portion of:

a.   a plumbing system;

b.   a heating or air conditioning system;

c.   an automatic fire protection system; or

d.   a household appliance; and

ii.   provided that the discharge, eruption, overflow or release of water occurs from a part or section of those items described in subsection (4) i. above that is located:

a.   above the surface of the ground on the residence premises;

    or

b.   within a building structure, including by way of example, within the basement or building’s slab; or

The issue is that the mainline is under ground and the break was outside of the building, therefore excluded. It is given back under the J6263.

This would also hold true for a sprinkler line that breaks and the limit would apply.

I would highly recommend that our agents discuss this and attempt to sell this endorsement to the insured's that have the Next Gen. I would also suggest that they take a look at the potential damage that could occur and discuss the limit they want to place on this endorsement. These claims can easy reach over $10K with the cost of mitigation now-a-days.

Every agent should check with underwriting guidelines in their state to see if this endorsement is applicable.

White Lists

Unsolicited and unwanted advertising eMails, commonly known as "spam", have become a big problem. It's reached such proportions that most eMail services and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have put some sort of blocking or filtering system in place or begun relying on self-proclaimed blacklists to tell the good guys from the bad., , We at UFAA applaud their intention to protect you from spam, but everyone agrees that the current systems for stopping spam are far from a perfect solution. They often block eMails that you've requested, but that fit somebody's idea of what spam looks like. The more responsible anti-spam activists are working hard to cut down on these "false positives", but in the mean time, you might unexpectedly find you're not getting your UFAA Direct updates or other important information from UFAA.

Recently updated spam filtering programs at USA.NET farmersagent.com email servers has included several spammers addresses that have assaulted the agency force with spam messaging. HTML formatted messages were included in the update. Unfortunately UFAA Direct emails may be treated as spam as they are HTML documents. This is likely the reason you may not have received recent UFAA Direct communications via your name@farmersagent.com and other non-farmers addresses.

If you do not wish to have an alternate email address to your @faremrsagent.com please “White List” our email addresses (directmail@ufaa.com and ufaadirect@cbnstl.com) with your @farmersagent.com email account.

If you are using a non-Farmers email address there is something you can do to keep your UFAA Direct emails from falling into the false positive trap. You can fight the blacklists with a "White List". To “White List” our email addresses (directmail@ufaa.com and ufaadirect@cbnstl.com) simply find your email provider and/or your spam filtering program by clicking here and follow a few simple steps to let them know that our emails should be sent to you!
