HAPPY THANKSGIVING
We, at
the United Farmers
Agents Association wish
everyone a very happy
Thanksgiving. May
everyone give thanks for
the many blessings they
have received.
There are many Farmers
employees and agents who
are thankful for many of
the wonderful happenings
in their life in 2006.
Then there are a great
number of employees and
agents that feel Farmers
Insurance isn’t
something to be thankful
for. Hundreds of
employees and agents
have either left the
company voluntarily or
have been given the
opportunity to meet some
almost impossible
requirements to remain a
viable part of Farmers
future toward 2010.
Three service centers
have cut employees and
will possibly no longer
be an important part of
the future of Farmers
Insurance. The following
service centers will
face drastic reductions
and possible closure in
2007; Phoenix, Colorado
Springs and Aurora. Some
of the employees at
these locations will be
provided an opportunity
to relocate and remain
with Farmers. As every
agent knows, any expense
relating to Farmers
Insurance is their own
expense. No relocation
assistance for the
hourly employees as far
as we know. Some of
those willing to
relocate have that most
obvious question of
“what guarantees my job
once I spend thousands
of dollars to relocate?”
Farmers isn’t providing
an answer to any
question about future
employment after
relocation. UFAA will
bring more information
to you as we receive
updates from employees.
UFAA has been informed
that there WON”T be a
commission reduction in
2007.
UFAA was informed that
the letter from the FIG
Federal Credit Union
wasn’t clearly
explaining the future of
contract value loans. It
was a possible
misunderstanding. UFAA
suggests that each FIG
Credit Union member
address their questions
to the credit union in
an email format and
receive your answers in
writing. We are
receiving many phone
calls that address the
same questions, yet have
different answers.
Farmers has stepped up
to the plate (with a
nudge from UFAA) and is
going to provide a
military discount in
January of 2007. We
don’t have all of the
particulars as of this
writing. We will keep
you informed.
UFAA is always desirous
of receiving input from
Farmers employees and
agents. Please email
pertinent information to
no@ufaa.com.
Have a safe holiday.
