Update #01-37

From around the world comes:

"Agents Helping Agents" through education, communications, support and information.  National Underwriter reported on the Farmers settlement in Ohio and said part of the settlement was "Notice to and training of Farmers employees and agents on providing coverage on a non-discriminatory basis."

An agent reports he has the same problem with how the support center in Kansas treats the customer questionnaires that are returned. Like the agent mentioned last week, he claims the Kansas center always increases the rate class but never decreases them in response to the customer supplied information.

Transitioning to the Internet, response #1: "With regards to the demise of the AS/400, it won't happen until 2004. Sure, you will see bits and pieces of APPS and FPPS, etc., go on the web as the next twelve months pass by.

The company just doesn't have the resources to make the full transition before then."

Transitioning to the Internet, response #2: "I had a conversation with the person in charge about being able to us APPS and FPPS via the dashboard.  Presidents Council agents have had access to 'Host on Demand' for a couple of months. This allows them to sign on to dashboard and get into APPS and FPPS.

It is however being pulled December 1st until final approval to go national is approved. When final approval is given, it will be offered for a FEE [emphasis added] similar to but less than IVANS."

If you write Long Term Care through CNA/Farmers, you might want to go to www.lps-ltc.com/software/farmers/farmers.htm Looks like you may be able to update your LTC software.

In Arizona, customers pay $7.00 to split the payment on a renewal. It looks like that number may be reduced to $2.00. The customers will like that!

Our brothers and sisters in Texas are still buried under by the mold problem and trying to rewrite the HO-B policies. For those of you that want to follow the situation, here are two addresses you might want to visit.

Have a great day.
