Update #01-01

From around the world comes:

Happy New Year!

An agent writes, "I send many things via email, things to my family, my broker, my lawyer and my CPA. I send personal and confidential things to people around the country. Why would I want to go through Farmers for email and possibly expose my life and my finances to snooping eyes?" I don't know the answer either.

Commission changes! Oops, commission changes only in Texas. I will try a brief explanation for those of you not in Texas. First, remember that everything having to do with insurance is different in Texas. They have three auto companies instead of two like the rest of us. One of those companies allows up to three autos on one policy number. They get policy fees similar to the rest of the world, i.e. some for liability, some for medical, and some for comp and collision. If they write three autos on one policy they get paid policy fees on each vehicle. Under the "new" program, they will get a flat $10 per policy regardless of the coverage or number of vehicles. Is that better or worse? I'll bet the answer will be different for each agent.

The UFAA Tech video has become popular! Nonmembers are sending in their $6.95 and receiving the "short" version in ever-increasing numbers. If you are interested in either video, contact the UFAA National Office at 800-275-8668 for more information.

The Chapter Presidents and the National Board will be meeting February 5th and 6th in Las Vegas. For the second year, representatives from NAPAA, NAAFA, UFAA and others will be meeting in Las Vegas to share experiences and information. It sounds like a great time coming up soon.

Whether you are accessing the Agency Dashboard frequently or not, go to the Bulletin Board on the ufaa.com web site and share your opinion with others. Secrets? Shortcuts? Tell others and make us all smarter! Thanks.

If you haven't contributed to the DRA Fund yet, please send your money today.  ALL legal activities cost money and this is no exception. Check the ufaa.com web site for additional information or contact a Chapter President near you. It's a great investment in YOUR future.
