Update #98-34
Exactly what is the financial arrangement between BAT and Zurich? Who owns how much? Guess what? You can go to the ufaa.com web site and read all about it. That web site is getting better every day. Tell your members, tell the Regional people, tell the claims people.
In December of each year, we receive a bulletin telling us what "gifts" we can and cannot receive from glass companies and others. If I remember correctly, the "gift" has to be edible. Now, I am told, I can receive "free" long distance calling cards just for using a specific windshield replacement company. Does this mean the rules have changed? Curious.
We are still looking for examples of multiple offices (more than two) hooked up to an AS400. If you know of one, let me know.
We are also looking for examples of "Non-Premier" agents buying other agencies. We need those stories also.
Compliments are coming in from all over the country on the latest issue of The Voice. It's a great time to launch a recruiting campaign.
A State Insurance Commissioner has given a verbal promise to attend our June 1999 National Convention. Next weekend, at the CEAA meeting, we will extend an invitation to the CEAA lobbyist and at least one US Congressman. Wouldn't that be grand if they accepted?
Soon to be on the web site is an IBM announcement offering a trade in promotion for used System 36s. It's interesting that, when signing that "Technology Lease," you GIVE your System 36 away. But in the real world, IBM will pay you for your trade in.
Keep those cards and letters coming. I am having a ball. It's a great time to be a UFAA member.
