Chapter President Update #98-32
A Colorado member recently discovered that the company(s) doing our new business fire
inspections has the ability (and permission) to change the data in the replacement cost
screen on FPPS. The changes could increase the coverage but won't decrease the coverage.
The only way you know this happens is by checking "versions" and looking for PI.
An Oklahoma agent recently discovered a conflict between signing the HMA and his corporate
filing with the state department that oversees corporations. If appears the Department can
be very restrictive so advise your members to check with their Insurance departments to
make sure there is no conflict.
We are moving ahead with the UFAA version of automobile Mechanical Breakdown Insurance. We
are finalizing plans with a company that will market the program and pay agents 20% (with
no cap). I want you all to know that I will maintain/retain the Arizona rights to market
the product (as I have been doing since January 1998) but will not make any money on
policies written in other states.
Chuck, Mark and I will be heading to Washington, DC later this month to attend the CEAA
meeting. If you have anything you would like us to address, let one of us know.
Victor Acevedo joins the list of Chapters with email. Look him up at acevedo21@aol.com.
Wayne Jenkins has is own email now. It's agt46315@aol.com. We are down to just six
Chapters without access to email and that's pretty darn good.
And lastly, we are approaching fall and it's a good time to start a recruiting campaign.
We have a lot to offer the agency force. All we have to do is tell them and sell them.
Give it a try. One new member from each Chapter goes a long way.
Have a great holiday.
Ralph
